September arrives and endless summer holidays draw to a close. A regular work mode kicks in. The final quarter of the year begins. And it’s all go!

The elements of AIR and ETHER are most prominent this time of year.

The qualities of these elements are: cool, dry, mobile, light, erratic. This is evident in the cooling of temperatures, the drying and fading of the leaves, the autumnal winds and the often frenetic whirl of social and work calendars.

Respecting seasonal rhythm and creating a supportive daily routines/rituals promote overall health according to Ayurveda AND western science.

What is Ayurveda?

A-yur-veda is the ancient system of health and wellness based on the five elements theory. The five elements are said to be the building blocks of all things in life including your body and mind which are unique combinations of the five great elements (earth, water, fire, air and ether).

These elements fluctuate according to the seasonal environment or surrounding circumstances. A simple of seasonal adjustment in diet, daily routine and lifestyle will support your overall health this time of year.

Winter Heart of Living Retreat - 5 elements for wellness

Join Emily for the annual Winter Heart of Living Retreat. A weekend to rejuvenate and guide you back to your essence - your “rasa”.

Using the road-map of the 5 elements of nature (Earth, Water, Fire, Air & Ethers) you can replenish this weekend with: morning meditations, breath-work and contemplations; yoga asana and creative movement; fire ceremony; times for silence; times for joy and laughter; home cooked cooked seasonal foods based on Ayurvedic principles that support the 5 elements and digestion; massages and treatments; fresh countryside air and long walks; and time to relax and be at peace.

This exclusive retreat is limited to 9 persons maximum.

This course is for anyone interested in developing greater contentment in daily life.

Using the ancient moral framework from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras this five part course offers meaningful, modern day approaches to developing greater purpose, inspiration and overall contentment life.

Isn’t that what everyone wants?

Each 2.5hr session will consist of:

1hr practice (asana/free movement, pranayama (breathing/centring) and meditation) and the latter part will be interactive discussion, journalling and reflection.

The session ends with a relaxed, group meal.
